If you have room in your budget, consider hiring a calligrapher to address your inner and outer envelopes. Calligraphy will add an extra touch of elegance to your invitations as well as save you some time.
When deciding on a calligrapher factor in the cost and timeliness. As with other vendors, ask to see a sample of their work. When looking at their samples pay attention to the consistency of their work, the pen strokes, the weight and the spacing of the letters.

Also ask how long it will take to complete your invitations. Generally speaking, it can take between 10-14 days to address 100 invitations, however the time varies based on the number of invitations and the complexity of your order.

Once you have made your final decision, provide your calligrapher with a list of addresses in the format that they request. Don't forget to proofread your guest list before you give it to the calligrapher. When you receive the completed envelopes from the calligrapher check and double check each envelope to ensure all names and addresses are spelled correctly.

Wedding Salon Bridal Show in NY*
A bridal show or bridal convention is a place where brides and grooms can go to look at a showcase of offerings by different wedding vendors. Bridal shows can be a great way to meet vendors and get new ideas but they can also be a little overwhelming if you don’t go in with a game plan.

o       Go early to avoid the crowds. Going early also gives you a chance to get the best samples and giveaways before vendors run out.

o       Depending on how long you plan on being there and how large the bridal show is you may not have the time or the desire to talk to every vendor that’s there. Before you go, do some research. Look through the list of vendors that will be there and highlight the vendors that you want to talk to. Make those vendors your first priority when you arrive at the show. If you still have time after you've met with those vendors walk around to the other booths and see what else is out there.

o       Make sure you have a pen or something to write with. You’ll most likely be meeting a lot of vendors and at the end of the day when you look through all the business cards you've collected you might not remember who’s who. So after you meet with a vendor take a second to jot down what you liked or didn’t like about them on the back of their business card before going to the next booth.

o       After the bridal show vendors tend to send follow up emails to all of the attendees to thank them for coming. Set up a new email account that’s dedicated to your wedding to avoid clogging up your personal or work email with vendor emails.

Take our bridal show survey and let us know what your experience with bridal shows has been like.
